 When God came calling 

were you peeking around

the corner of that door -

way were you flirting with the idea of

me as your priest

I walk the edge of the earth

and look over the side

always wondering

on a Friday night 

symbols as old as time

relics of a crusade

remind there's a time to live but

mostly we die

in a word you were offered peace

but in another you said goodbye

and God only knows the reasons why for He is 

the only one who can touch your soul deeper than I
